The annual Dynamo Girls tryouts always brought out the best in Houston. The choreographer wanted me to come along to help document the day long audition process, which in itself was rigorous. It was fun seeing all these random girls, both new and former, coming in with dreams of making the team and putting their best on the dance floor.

The tryout itself consisted of just one dance routine, but an important one. The girls spent some time learning the choregraphy, trying it out, and fixing and mistakes they might have made. They were then put into groups to show how they would look as if they were a squad. With this in mind, I wanted to capture the dance from all angles and since it was only one routine with one song, I was able to splice everything together.
